We all spend a lot of time in the kitchen. With all of your major appliances, table and chairs, and often crowded counter-tops,  it might seem that there is little room for any decorative items. You may be surprised to learn that there are some easy ways to make this functional room feel warm and cozy. You can add character to this space with just a few easy additions.  

First, rather than leaving your sponges on your counter-top, try storing them in a fun, decorative pot instead. Also try adding a splash of color to your room by hanging a decorative dish towel on your oven or refrigerator handle.  

Another fun way to add color and life to your room is by adding a bird feeder outside of your window. Adding a bouquet of flowers can also easily create a warm and inviting vibe.  

There are also some seasonal items that you can use to add color and the perfect accent to soften your room. Start by adding either decorative baskets or bowls to your counter-top or windowsill. Fill these items with different accents according to the season. This winter you might try filling a bowl with chestnuts. In the springtime you could use bright lemons and then change to limes for the summer. Autumn time you may want to use pine cones or gourds.  

Just adding these few decorative touches can help to show off your unique style, while also helping to make your guests feel at home.
