Using Textures and Patterns
When decorating any space, it is imperative that you use a variety of textures and patterns. This is an easy way to liven up your room and make it more interesting to the eye. Sticking to one texture or pattern will leave your guests bored; while the use of contrasts, such as shiny and dull or smooth and rough surfaces, will add a element of interest in your space.
The photo below is a great example of how to use different textures. The shiny silver pieces and rhinestone pillows are a beautiful contrast to the dull surface of the cabinet featured.
Also, by layering items, you will achieve a sense of warmth in your space. Adding layers of pillows will easily help you remedy any chilly vibes in your room.
