How Does Color Influence Your Space?
There are many aspects to consider when redecorating a room. To start with, what colors are you going to choose? It is always helpful to know some basics about color. Choosing a color may seem like a simple task, but in fact, the color that you choose can have a huge impact on the feeling of your space.
To begin with, colors are divided into warm and cool tones. Warm colors include reds, oranges, pinks, beiges and creams. Cool tones include blues, greens and grays. Greens and purples can be either warm or cool depending on how they are mixed. If the green has more yellow in it, like with a lime green, it is a warm tone. However with more blue mixed in, like with a forest green, it becomes a cool tone.
It is important to consider the function of your space while choosing a warm or cool paint color. To help you decide, it is helpful to define your space as either an active or passive room. Warm colors create a sense of energy, so they should only be used in active rooms, like a kitchen. Conversely, passive rooms need calm and soothing colors. Cool tones are therefore perfectly suited for bedrooms and bathrooms.

Shop the Block &
Buy Local Weekend
We would like to remind you about two great upcoming events happening in the Reading community. First, Shop the Block will be occurring Thursday, December 1st from 5:00pm-9:00pm. This is a fun family event and the perfect way to bring the community together to kick off the holiday season. You and your family will love the entertainment provided. There will be performances by the instructors and students of Creative Arts in Reading and a team of performers from Voice of Hope. This event is the perfect way to support your local businesses who will be offering great discounts and promotions. Look for the big red bows on local shops to see who is participating. RBM Interiors will be offering a 10% discount on all merchandise.
Another great community event is Buy Local Weekend. This will take place December 2-4. On Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd, RBM Interiors will be open 10:00am-7:00pm. Sunday, December 4th we will be open 10:00am-5:00pm. This is another fun event that will help to support your community businesses. "Keep Your Town" by buying locally.
