Change the Matting on Artwork
We often find it's the color of the mat, not the frame,
that dates a picture. Change the look of the piece by
swapping out a light-color mat for a dark one or vice
versa. Or choose a new color of mat and use the art in
a different room. This will have dramatic effects and
also help change colors or add color to the room as
well as to the piece of art itself. Often, a piece of art
can work well even when it does not appear to go in
an area if the right mat is selected.

With Memorial Day now behind us, I am looking
forward to lots of great summer projects. I enjoy
visiting furniture and home markets throughout the
country and I am currently eyeing the Gift Mart in
Atlanta in July.
