throughout the country:
For a simple look, drape a ribbon across a mirror and
anchor with ornaments either in the center or one on
each end -- Festive yet simple!
Bring holiday decor into the bedroom. A
beautiful bed looks grand draped with garland --
Elaborately elegant!
Make ready-made woven wood shades look
custom by having the edges trimmed with ribbon and
then rolling up the shade and using ribbon ties to
anchor it. You can even change this seasonally --
Cheap and chic!

If you are preparing your holiday gifts, keep these
tips in mind...
Do not give a bell, a clock or anything with a clock's
face as a gift. These are akin to gifts of scissors,
knives, or swords and symbolize the severing of a
relationship or a life.
If you must give a pair of scissors or a set of knives
or swords as a gift, attach a penny to each blade. This
neutralizes the severance effect. The pennies should
then be returned to the giver.
No time for shopping? You can give lucky red money
envelopes. They are traditional and appropriate for
any occasion. It is customary to put paper currency or

First of all, I would like to take the opportunity to thank
all of my wonderful clients and also my vendors,
artists and everyone who helps make Redecorating by
Melanie a success. This has been a busy and
productive year and I look forward to many future
projects with all of you.
I have continued my tv career with the Channel 7
News Team. I especially enjoyed giving back to the
community by decorating a studio apartment in the
Cam Neely House during the fall.
Now I am taking a little time to reflect on all my
blessings and spend some time with family. I wish
you all a lovely holiday season!
