A Head Start on Fall Décor
    fall decor

Getting your home or office ready for fall might seem time consuming and stressful. However, just a few pieces can bring fall's outdoor spirit into your personal space. Here are some simple decorating tips that will help you enjoy autumn.

    • Greet visitors with fall wreaths or hanging sconces filled with clusters of leaves, dried wheat, berries, and flowers. If you'd rather not hang anything on the doors, consider placing a group of various sized pumpkins on the patio or doorstep mixed with colorful fall mums. These items are a great way to pleasantly welcome your guests.
    • For a centerpiece on a table or in a foyer place a few small pumpkins or gourds in a long platter, tray, or basket. You may also add small elements such as leaves, acorns, berries, or flowers. These items will bring great color into the arrangement. This centerpiece is guaranteed to bring the fall season into your home.
    • An easy approach to fall decorating and a favorite design element is to take one object and repeat it. Consider items such as large pine cones, gourds, or even pumpkins. You can add some embellishments such as beaded garland, leaves, or small votives for ambiance. Placing these on a shelf or a table will bring a splash of autumn color to any space.
    • Bring fall colors into your home or office. A natural colored bowl or ceramic tray full of seasonal fruit such as apples will certainly bring in the rich colors of harvest time. Placing this bowl next to an arrangement of branches adorned with leaves will maximize the color.

Feng Shui Tip of The Month

    Fall Into Good Feng Shui

    • Red is great color for fall. It also happens to be a lucky color for love. Pot a plant in a red container to pump up your love life and passion.
    • A common motif of the fall season is a pine cone or an acorn. If you place either of these items along with a key in a red dish or shallow bowl you are encouraging balance and good luck.
    • There are beautiful fall colored mums for sale all over town. Placing a few of them indoors will not only provide a decorative touch, but it will symbolize growth, life, and well being.
    • Some colors like red, orange, and gold used in an office or in a study will spark enthusiasm and creativity. These colors can be inspiring; and are easily added in small amounts throughout the home or office.
