    Headboards 101

Headboards are a great way to add color, design, function and comfort to your room. Here are a few popular trends that provide a lot of style.

    • Use upholstered panels mounted on the wall to provide a stylish look and comfortable place to rest.
    • Extend headboards past the width of the bed to accommodate nightstands.
    • Use a decorative wall hanging or screen as your headboard.
    • Platform beds give a chic look to any bedroom.
    • Another well-loved, Japanese-inspired style is stacked pillows on a bed dressed with sheets or a light comforter and decorative throw folded across the bottom. "Very hotel and perfect for warmer months!"

Feng Shui Tip of The Month

    Feng Shui for your bedroom

    • When positioning your bed, the most important determining factor in placement is the relation of the bed to the bedroom door. Your bed should be as far from the bedroom door as possible. This provides a sense of control over your space and your life.
    • While lying in bed you should always be able to view out your door and to see who is coming in, however, the bed should never be in direct line with the bedroom door, where the powerful flow of chi could create disease along the midline of the body.
    • Space in front of your bed allows more room for positive chi and growth in your life. Placing the foot of the bed against a wall may cause ankle and career problems. Placing the side of your bed directly against a wall can stifle flexibility in your life.
